This person’s comeback was out of this world and it’s a lesson for potty mouths everywhere

Spare a thought, if you will, for someone called Naomi H who was so excited to get an internship at NASA that she said this on Twitter.

Wow, she really IS excited.

Except not everyone was impressed. Like this chap.

Naomi wasn’t having any of it, however. She was too excited.

And unfortunately for her, this happened.

Houston, we have a problem. So much so, apparently, that Naomi is no longer on an internship at NASA. Better luck next time.

And here are a few of our favourite responses online.

And just in case you need to know more about what happened, Homer Hickam – he’s on the NASA space council, don’t you know? – wrote a blog about it.

Here’s an excerpt.

‘I’m a Vietnam vet and not at all offended by the F-word. However, when I saw NASA and the word used together, it occurred to me that this young person might get in trouble if NASA saw it so I tweeted to her one word: “Language” and intended to leave it at that. Soon, her friends took umbrage and said a lot of unkind things but long after I was gone as I immediately deleted my comments and blocked all concerned.

‘Later, I learned she had lost her offer for an internship with NASA. This I had nothing to do with nor could I since I do not hire and fire at the agency or have any say on employment whatsoever. As it turned out, it was due to the NASA hashtag her friends used that called the agency’s attention to it long after my comments were gone.’

What a decent chap. Heart of stone not to feel a little bit sorry for Naomi, no?

Bet she really got a rocket when she get home.
