A Dutch politician has made a “Love Actually” message for the UK about Brexit
Surprisingly, not everybody in the EU is so sick of the UK that they want us to never darken their door again, so one Dutch politician has used a very seasonal meme to show that they want Brexit to go smoothly – or not happen. Kees Verhoeven, a Left-leaning member of the House of Representatives made a video showing him “calling on Theresa May” with a number of cue cards containing his message.

The clip stirred up a variety of reactions:
Admiration –
Gratitude –
Thank you! Thank you!
I am so ashamed of the worst of us in the U.K. and am touched beyond measure by your kind message.
Merry Xmas to you too.

Anger –
The people have made their minds up
It’s the backstabbing Remainer MP’s who are holding things up desperate to scupper the democratic decision of the majority of the British voting public— Clive Wilson (@Clivedwilson) December 15, 2018
And love, actually –
We love you to, Netherlands. And we are doing what we can to make this a Very, Merry Christmas! #ProjectHope

I’m not sure whether Mr Verhoeven remembers how that particular story arc panned out, but – spoiler alert – they don’t end up together.
