This Stars in Their Eyes Christmas Special has to be seen to be believed
Stars in Their Eyes was primetime Saturday night telly for years – which is a whole thing to mull over all by itself – but the Christmas specials really pulled out all the stops. In 1992, they gathered a whole host of “lookalikes” and “soundalikes” – inverted commas for legal reasons – to sing the Band Aid hit, “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”. Rather than try to replicate the original singers, they gathered a whole host of alternative “stars”.
May I remind you that this was primetime TV – at Christmas.
Twitter user Andy P spotted the vintage gem and had this to say about it.
