Donald Trump ‘wants 5G and even 6G as soon as possible’ and it prompted some very funny replies
Donald Trump is serious about technology. We know this because the so-called president tweeted that he wanted ‘5G and even 6G technology’ as soon as possible.
But Mr President, what about 7G?
I want 5G, and even 6G, technology in the United States as soon as possible. It is far more powerful, faster, and smarter than the current standard. American companies must step up their efforts, or get left behind. There is no reason that we should be lagging behind on………
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 21, 2019
….something that is so obviously the future. I want the United States to win through competition, not by blocking out currently more advanced technologies. We must always be the leader in everything we do, especially when it comes to the very exciting world of technology!

Except 5G is in its infancy and no-one’s even thought about 6G yet because, well, the clue’s in the first half of this sentence.
It prompted some very funny replies, however, so he wasn’t entirely wasting his time.
1.
I’ll send $10 to the first reporter who asks him to explain 5G at a press conference.

2.
And how about having him explain the improvements in 6G over 5G?

3.
I will add another $10 if asked to explain 6G

Why not 7G?

8.
Why stop at 6G? Like someone else said, we need 10G right NOW. Even 20G!! But let’s get even stronger, even better, and even faster. Trump, we need 100G networks in the USA now!!!!

Why stop there? 50G! One thousand G! TEN BILLION G!!!!!

This thread was pretty good too, on a slightly more serious note.
6G is still a decade away. This tweet shows a clear lack of tech understanding.

If you don't want to lag behind then embrace technology and the future, rather than looking towards the past for solutions to a futuristic economy and world.

Progression is what is needed.
Thats why we need to embrace progressive politicians, not Conservatives who think 1950 was America's hayday.

To conclude …
Donald, I’ll give you a million dollars if you can tell me what 5G and 6G even are. Or even what 4G is. Or what 4 plus 4 is. https://t.co/7wf7yY2aj7
