A woman cyclist had to stop after she caught up with the men’s race in front and everyone made the same joke
Not often we feature the world of cycling but then it’s not often that this happens, after a woman cyclist competing in a race in Belgium was forced to stop after catching up with the men’s race in front.
The male riders had set off 10 minutes earlier, but by all accounts this wasn’t early enough for Swiss cyclist Nicole Hanselmann who soon caught up.
Her reward was this.

Surely they could just have forced the men to go faster instead?
Anyway, it did prompt some wonderful responses on Twitter, some very true, some very funny, and often both.

The fragility of the male ego always amazes me. It shouldn’t but it still does.

Naturally attention to how (and why) it happened in the first place. This exchange pretty much nails it.
Couple of things:
1. Why was there only a ten minute break between both races starting?
2. If 1 has a suitable answer, why were they taking the same route? This outcome was bound to happen.— Fry Incognito (@Fry_Incognito) March 5, 2019
Ten minutes is usually enough. The problem was that the men's race had started at an incredibly slow pace.

Actually, the problem was they never expected a woman to catch up to the men. If co-mingling was a concern, they should spaced them out at least by 30 minutes or gave them a different route.

True equality would be having them all in the same race.
