This first person piece from 1890 on ‘What Being Ugly is Like’ is a real heartbreaker
This is quite the read, a first person piece from a Victorian pubication called Any Answers, from 1890, shared on Twitter by Bob Nicholson.
It’s headlined ‘What Being Ugly is Like – A Sufferer’s Experiences told by himself’ and it’s a total heartbreaker.

We just want to give him a hug.

I refuse to let a vocal minority (of idiots) ruin the world 😀

This is heart-breaking.
I fear we're no better now, either.
The tiny percentage of "beautiful" people saturate our media; thinness = moral superiority; gym gains for IG, muscle tees, and yoga pants…
We don't ask for any of what we're born with, but we're judged for it all. https://t.co/CO5JQZUiZO

Incredibly sad, but this line’s a ripper: “I am as ugly & ridiculous a specimen as you will meet in a day’s march”.
