Just a lovely story of mistaken identity and this reply made it even better
We’re grateful to journalist Chris Deerin for highlighting this lovely story of mistaken identity, and one of the replies which made it even better.

It started when writer and radio producer Jane Graham shared this on Twitter.
Unusually our landline rang last night. Daughter assumed it was a cold caller about to suggest we were owed PPI & gave him short shrift. ‘Some call centre guy.. said his name was George Benson’. An interview timing mix up & this beautiful man got an earful of derisory Glaswegian pic.twitter.com/5pg7KA0iNL

Which made us smile lots.
Oh mate. Did you speak in the end?
— Louis Barfe (@AlanKelloggs) May 29, 2019
No! Unsurprisingly his number didn’t come up when we 1471’d him!

maybe it wasn’t *that* George Benson

He was returning a call I’d made to his number the night before – I left a message. 24 hours later he called back.

And then this reply took it to a whole new level.
Has George Benson ever rung you? Do let us know in the comments.
