A Brexit Party MEP made a claim about his EU transport and everybody made the same joke
One of London’s new MEPs, Brexit Party representative Lance Forman took to Twitter to make this point.
No need to take taxis in Brussels if you’re an MEP. Thankfully the British taxpayer has paid for a nice fleet of Mercs and very charming drivers. pic.twitter.com/PknUazUOUC

The implication was clearly that the EU is wasteful and extravagant, but he should have looked a little closer at the car.
It's a Skoda you moron. https://t.co/4JHVzlzlbg

So, definitely not a “Merc”, then?
Quite a few people were happy to jump in and put him straight.
This is a little worrying, it seems Lance Forman can't tell the difference between a chauffeur driven Mercedes and an empty Skoda. Is he a bit thick ? https://t.co/FgvDaCsTZn

Why does that Mercedes have Skoda badges, you utter simpleton? https://t.co/wM4QyCYqay

That's a Skoda, you absolute plank. https://t.co/QKcoso11qn

A. It's a Skoda
B. Owning cars is cheaper than hiring taxisJesus Christ, he's auto-parodic. https://t.co/wlICKReoXr

QC Jessica Simor pointed out his other option.
Love the idea that without a chauffeur-driven (where's the chauffeur???) Merc (Skoda???) you'd have to take a taxi! Last time I was in Brussels the bus and metro were excellent. Ever heard of public transport?

In case you were wondering if this were a one-off lapse of concentration, here’s Lance Forman complaining about the voting machine not working, when he’d forgotten to put his card in.
On the left is Brexit MEP Lance Forman posting a video he is suggesting shows the voting machines in the EU parliament don't record "no" votes.
On the right is an image of how these machines actually work, and that they require a voting card.
