Boris Johnson’s speech came a poor second to the protest chants
Boris Johnson made a speech outside number 10 Downing Street on Monday evening, in which he stressed that he didn’t want to call a general election, and he urged Tory MPs not to back legislation that would block a No Deal Brexit. At least, we think that’s what he did, because it was accompanied by a dull roar of “Stop the coup” from protesters outside the gates. Here’s the speech in full – it’s only four minutes long, and worth the watch, if only to see his rising panic.
"I don't want an election, you don't want an election"
Boris Johnson warns MPs against "another pointless delay" to #Brexit, saying it will "chop the legs out from under the UK position"

Twitter was watching carefully, and had this to say.
1.
Has @BorisJohnson made a speech anywhere yet that wasn't almost drowned out by furious protestors? He's got a mandate for absolutely fuck all.

Boris Johnson’s constant statements outside Downing Street is the political equivalent of a work meeting that could have been an email

Boris Johnson just bottled it. Most pointless announcement in history.

Boris Johnson is a fucking liar. The chances of getting a good #Brexit deal are NOT increasing. Those who are planning to oppose #NoDealBrexit are not damaging the chances of a good deal, they are putting the country first.
Best part of speech, those chanting #StopTheCoup ✊🏽🇬🇧— SpaceAngel #StopBrexit #StopTheCoup #GTTO (@spaceangel1964) September 2, 2019

Wow Boris Johnson’s speech impressively drowned out by “stop the coup” chants from protests against him outside Downing St

Shouts of "stop the coup" from Downing Street demonstrators as Johnson speaks shows he isn't as popular as the Tories pretend and an election might not go his way
