Now Amber Rudd’s resigned and these are our favourite 7 things people said about it
The latest person to quit Boris Johnson’s sinking ship (can a boat that’s never floated sink?) is Amber Rudd.
The work and pensions secretary said she couldn’t ‘stand by’ while her fellow Tory MPs were expelled over Brexit and said she no longer believed leaving the EU with a deal was the government’s “main objective”.
I have resigned from Cabinet and surrendered the Conservative Whip.
I cannot stand by as good, loyal moderate Conservatives are expelled.
I have spoken to the PM and my Association Chairman to explain.
I remain committed to the One Nation values that drew me into politics. pic.twitter.com/kYmZHbLMES

And these are the only 7 things you need to know.
1.
Kudos to Amber Rudd, who needed just a few days' political calculus to resign from the cabinet she joined in contravention of her previously stated principles and in service to a man she knew to be an amoral, lying bigot, but who is now an *unpopular* amoral, lying bigot.

2.
Amber Rudd said prorogation was “absolutely outrageous” and No Deal is a betrayal, then signed up for both the very second she was offered a cushy job. It’s not an act of bravery and integrity when rats flee a sinking ship.

I hope she joins Caroline Lucas's party so that on the ballot paper she'd be "Rudd, Amber (Green)". Send tweet.
