Michael Gove quoting Stormzy lyrics had the internet cringing hard – 19 scathing takedowns

In the race to grab as many votes as possible, a celebrity endorsement can be a great boost, so it must have riled some Conservatives for Jeremy Corbyn to get yet another shout out from popular rapper, Stormzy, via Instagram.

I will be registering to vote and I will be voting for Jeremy Corbyn.

There are several reasons as to why I’m voting for him – I would be here all day if I began to list them…but in my 26 years of life I have never trusted politicians or relied on them to be the bearers of hope and righteous people that we’ve needed them to be.

And for me, he is the first man in a position of power who is committed to giving the power back to the people and helping those who need a helping hand from the government the most.

Michael Gove reacted by saying

“He is a far, far better rapper than he is a political analyst.”

Which drew this response from Labour’s Angela Rayner.

This is where it got really weird. Prepare yourself for one of the most cringeworthy things you’ll see this side of the general election.

Which, in case you were wondering, comes from Stormzy’s hit, “Shut Up”. And, because a lot of Tories share a dreadful sense of humour, he got this reply from Daniel Hannan.

Once Twitter had uncurled itself from the foetal position, it reacted as you’d expect – with scathing takedowns and searing burns.
