The Brexit Party pulled a last-day stunt in the European Parliament – 13 scathing takedowns

After 47 years, the UK has sat in its final session of the European Parliament ahead of exiting the European Union on Friday.

Having approved the Withdrawal Deal already passed in the House of Commons, the assembled MEPs made this touching farewell gesture.

It moved journalist and ardent Remainer Ian Dunt to tears.

It would have been as good a way to bow out as the UK could expect, under the circumstances, but the Brexit Party had other ideas.

They did this.

European Parliament Vice-president, Mairead McGuinness, firmly put them in its place, but the disapproval spilled over onto Twitter.
