Rishi Sunak’s family tax woes grow with the suggestion he and his wife recently had US green cards
Rishi Sunak’s fall from grace currently resembles Wile E. Coyote running off a cliff.
For quite a large portion of time between the start of the furlough policy to the beginning of this year, he had been touted for the top political job in the UK. Not getting the Marr slot on Sunday, but becoming the prime minister.
Gordon Brown bailed out the fat-cat bankers, Rishi Sunak just signed the biggest peacetime rescue package ever seen for ordinary workers.

Since then, the ‘man of the people’ has –
Delivered a punitive Spring Statement that will push half a million UK children into poverty
Demonstrated that he hasn’t the faintest idea how real people use shops or petrol pumps
Swanned off on holiday to his mansion in California as British residents decided whether to heat their homes or have a meal.
Say what you like about Rishi, he does a cracking impression of a billionaire who has never been in a shop before. pic.twitter.com/Yd6Hu07llP

Rest assured everyone…
Rishi Sunak will be closely monitoring the cost of living crisis from his umpteenth holiday home in California

But it’s the business affairs of his billionaire wife, Akshata Murty, that have really turned up the heat.
At first, it was her multi-million pound stake in an Indian company still operating in Russia, which he suggested people should simply not mention.
If I didn’t want my spouse to be criticised I would simply marry someone who didn’t have dodgy business links to an autocratic mass murderer I had just a week earlier advised people to sever all ties with and maybe not be a gigantic fucking hypocrite idkhttps://t.co/atjl5y8Ywj

When it emerged that Ms Murty had non-dom status, drastically slashing the amount of tax she pays in the UK, the scrutiny intensified.
Rishi Sunak's billionaire wife claims "non-dom" tax status, a loophole used by the super-rich to avoid paying millions of pounds of tax in Britain.
Meanwhile Sunak writes the tax rules and lets the super-rich exploit this loophole.
They really are taking the piss.

BREAKING: Rishi Sunak has explained that just because his wife's home is in the UK and their children go to school in the UK and his job is in the UK, does not mean his wife is a resident in the UK. Hope this clarifies things x

There have been suggestions that Downing Street insiders might have leaked information about the chancellor’s wife, simply to ruin his chances of challenging the PM.
I have played no part in briefing against Rishi Sunak or fanning the flames of anger over his wife's tax status. pic.twitter.com/VVQQI928Hc

When I was PM, I did not leak news about the tax affairs of Rishi Sunak's wife and try to blame Labour #ToryCorruption pic.twitter.com/WUxUm7O530

A new revelation, courtesy of Sky News, claims that for at least part of his tenure as Chancellor of the Exchequer, both Sunak and Murty had green cards, which are issued to permanent residents of the US and require taxes to be paid in that country.
My analysis on Rishi Sunak’s woes – and whether things might get worse
Did he have a US Green Card – declaring himself “permanent US resident” – during his first year as Chancellor?
No denial tonight from Treasury, who only say he doesn’t have one nowhttps://t.co/3pGJJhZ6Wk pic.twitter.com/mcnGlpLh4t
