That countdown by BBC newsreader Maryam Moshiri has been released – and it’s even better than the middle finger snippet
You can’t have missed BBC newsreader Maryam Moshiri‘s viral moment a couple of weeks ago, when she was accidentally caught on camera with her middle finger raised.

Despite Maryam explaining that it was simply the last moment of a jokey countdown, the usual suspects tried to convince people that she had been showing contempt for the public and/or Boris Johnson, because of the opening item.

Although it was claimed that the BBC had released it, Maryam issued a clarification.
Hey – just to say the BBC did not release this ( have no idea who did)- but in a way I’m glad at least people can see it was a mistimed joke countdown with my colleagues! Which I’m sorry about.
It does show, however, that I wasn’t lying!
