Victoria Derbyshire’s epic takedown of this Tory MP’s criticism of Keir Starmer’s EU deal was simply magnificent
Not for the first time we find ourselves singing the praises of Newsnight presenter, Victoria Derbyshire.
This time the very best thing about BBC News was interviewing Conservative MP and shadow paymaster general Richard Holden about the deal Keir Starmer has just struck with the EU, about which the Tories were predictably furious.
So Derbyshire had one particular point to ask Holden about, and what happened next was simply magnificent.
“Would you say the Conservative Party are still the party of business?”@vicderbyshire challenges Shadow Paymaster General Richard Holden over his party’s decision to oppose Keir Starmer’s EU deal.#Newsnight pic.twitter.com/fJGBPU4Y5x

They used to be the Party of business.
Then they were just in the business of parties.
Now they are out of business altogether.
It’s clear only one Party is standing up for British business, jobs and growth. https://t.co/7PdtwUpKOl

There are some pretty stupid beggars in the Tory party, but parachute boy, Richard Holden must be one of the most stupid.

They opposed the deal before they even knew what they were opposing. That’s says it all. They are a small party and will get even smaller in the future.
