BTW: My understanding is that the middle seat IS allowed to take both arm-rests. The window doesn't have to talk to anyone. The aisle has the easiest exit and most space. The middle gets the arm-rests.

When I'm in a window or aisle seat, I always tell the middle person they earned the armrest and to utilize as they see fit because I'll never touch it.
