‘We planned to meet at a bar in her neighborhood. I got there first, saw a woman that looked like the photos I’d seen, and approached cautiously. “Hey, how’s it going? Are you… Mary?” She flipped out. “AM I MARRIED? WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?”
‘Once she faced me, I knew it was not who I was meeting. I quickly apologized and clarified that I was meeting someone named Mary who she resembled. Too late. She’s yelling at the bartender that I’m harrassing her. He’s like “Get out.” So when Mary actually showed up, I’m outside and have to explain that I am not welcomed in that bar at least for the evening.
‘She laughed at the situation, but the vibe was weird after that. She also talked a lot about how promiscuous she’d been when she worked on a cruise ship. I didn’t think that was an ideal first date topic.’
