This unhinged senate hearing clash about Kash Patel boozing on the job went so badly for the FBI man even we needed a stiff drink after that
Not long ago, The Atlantic wrote a detailed and deeply reported article about how Kash Patel appears to be drinking a lot. On the clock. Off the clock. Hey, it’s 5 o clock somewhere, right?
Naturally, Patel vehemently denied the whole thing.
This game of “they said, he said” came to its logical conclusion with a senate hearing. (Because what else should the US government focus on right now…)
That brings us to this confrontation between Patel and Maryland Senator Christopher Van Hollen. Van Hollen tries to ask Patel about the accusations made in the article when Patel explodes into a frothy mess.

Patel seemed hell-bent on not letting Van Hollen speak, but the Senator wasn’t going to let Patel drag his name through the mud like that. He confronted Patel once he got the FBI Director to pipe down.
VAN HOLLEN: In your response to me earlier, where you had a blowup, you made a couple provably false statements
KASH PATEL: So did you
VAN HOLLEN: Do you know it’s a crime to lie to Congress?
PATEL: Maybe the next time you run up a $7,000 bar tab we can talk about it

The Senator then took to Twitter to once more address the alleged incident Patel was so aggressively referencing.
