‘What’s the biggest waste of money you see people purchase all the time?’ – 21 people splashing their cash on nonsense

‘I guess it’s not a product as such but the amount women spend on doing their nails at nail salons! I am a woman, I have an office job, and I like looking/feeling pretty just as much as anybody else but I think it’s insane to spend £70-100+ a month (depending on whether it’s mani-pedi or mani only) on nails when you could just use nail polish at home. I understand if it’s a treat once in a while though but some of my colleagues go every two weeks!’

‘Designer children’s clothes. I mean… why does my four-year-old need a £500 Loro Piana sweater or a £300 pair of Zegna jeans?? Insane waste of money.’

‘Designer glasses. Known people spending £400 on a pair. Mine were £13 from Glasses Direct. Look great and they survived a motorbike crash. Could go on a city break with the money saved.’

‘Adults buying decorative toys like those hyper-detailed action figures, or movie quality lightsabers, but then complain that they have no money 2-3 weeks into the month.
I’m completely fine with people spending money on things they enjoy, I’m 38 and I have a train set for instance. I do however make sure I prioritise the essentials first, and I certainly don’t chew other people’s ears off complaining about my lot in life, for entirely self-inflicted reasons.’

‘Flip side of that. People don’t spend enough on mattresses. So many people I know complaining about bad sleep or sore back and they’ve got a £90 memory foam from Argos.
Buy a proper fucking mattress instead of £300 shoes you muppet.’
