‘Streaming services. I used to think it was amazing to pay £5 a month and get access to an incredibly large catalogue of things I could watch.
Now you need to have Netflix and Disney and HBO and paramount and this and that. Everyone has their own streaming service that start at £6+ WITH ADS. Why I am paying to SEE ADS?!
Back to pirating, because fuck that.’

‘I have to use an app on my phone to delay start my washing machine. My old machine just had a button. Apparently an app makes my ‘experience’ better. Washing clothes is not a experience it’s a chore.’

‘Deliveroo and similar apps. Back when I was a kid some 20 years ago:
Delivery was free.
The person delivering it was a local teenager in his Citroen Saxo earning some extra dough to pay for his insurance/fuel.
Delivery did not mean prices were 15% more expensive than collecting yourself.
What we have now is in almost every measurable aspect way, way, way worse. These apps should be regulated out of existence for multiple consumer and civic rights reasons.’

‘Double decker buses using CCTV to monitor upstairs and taking away the mirrors we used to have. Had a fully packed bus trip the other day with passengers turned away because the top floor had to be closed and taped off when the cctv broke! Fucking ridiculous.’

‘Adas systems on some cars. My cars collision sensor can have its moments especially on certain corners where it will pick up a tree or a bollard, the car then starts flashing and beeping at me while slamming on the breaks when I am no where near crashing into it. Have gotten closer to crashing more times because of the car distracting me while unexpectedly braking than I was because of the object it was picking up.’

‘Requirements to register for online one-off purchases. Want to hire a mountain bike for couple of hours? Let’s create full scale profile of you on our website. Want to check the menu in our restaurant? Let’s register you first. Wtf? Everything and everyone suddenly need my details.’

‘Shops asking for contact details. I’ve just bought a microwave. Shop wants my email address and phone number. I say “No” and they look at me funny and kinda freeze like they don’t know what to do next. Why would anyone give these details to a stranger in a shop? Weird.’

‘Everything moving to the cloud. Almost every task I need to do at work takes slightly longer now, instead of just opening immediately because it’s stored locally there’s a few seconds of lag. Sometimes it’ll just hang or say it can’t connect. Seems trivial but if it’s a busy day I am absolutely raging by 4pm.’
