Politics Alastair Campbell count binface
Alastair Campbell tried to get one over on Count Binface only to fall flat on his face and a very satisfying watch it is too
Less than a week to go until Nigel Farage gets humiliated at the Clacton by-election (and no, he doesn’t have to lose to get humiliated, it’ll be a humiliation whoever the result).
And the great man – Count Binface, obviously – has been ramping up his campaign, not just with this rather fabulous party election broadcast but by going on the Rest is Politics podcast with Rory Stewart and Alastair Campbell.
And this bit in particular is worth watching, an Odyssey-themed exchange in which Campbell tries to get one over on the Count and falls flat on his face.
The Odyssey reviewed by @CountBinface and @campbellclaret confuses languages. Great episode of @restispolitics with @rorystewartUK https://t.co/pTKe9jpti1 pic.twitter.com/LVaqCMwQ2J

Boom.
In which Binface reads a passage from the Odyssey in the original and (I am not joking, check from 0:56) Alastair responds, verbatim “Now listen Count, you’re involved in a very serious political event and I don’t think you should go around the streets of Clacton spouting Latin.” https://t.co/TrBiCREYdK

We’re very much with this person.
that awkward expression of gently amused condescension from campbell while listening is very Partridge

Although, as lots of people pointed out.
That’s the opening lines of The Iliad

And finally …
It’s best, of course, in the original klingon
