Salisbury Cathedral appears to be trolling Russia and people love them for it
It was always going to be a slightly tricky day for Salisbury Cathedral after the two suspects in the novichok poisoning case said they were only in the city to visit its ‘famous 123 metre spire’.
But rather than keep quiet the cathedral’s Twitter feed appears to have decided to take a front foot approach.
Salisbury Cathedral’s spire is the tallest in Britain, reaching the impressive height of 123m! It is no wonder that it can be seen for miles around and plays such a significant part of the surrounding landscape.

The tweet was too perfectly timed to be coincidental. A bit like the two suspects’ trip to Salisbury, you might say.
Here’s a flavour of how people responded online.
Is Salisbury Cathedral trolling the Kremlin..?! https://t.co/8wqvp3N6Dj
