Twitter satirises Oscar’s diversity problem with #MakeAMovieWhiter
If you hadn’t noticed, the Oscars have been getting a lot of flack for being, well, very white, as the Academy has nominated all white actors for the second year in a row.
Prominent black actors and directors, including Will Smith and Spike Lee, have pledged to not attend this year’s ceremony and civil rights leader Rev Al Sharpton’s National Action Network is urging Chris Rock to step down from hosting the show.
And here comes Twitter, joining in in the way it knows best: with a comedy hashtag. To be fair, some of them are pretty amusing whilst also making a point.
