Town in Iceland paints a 3D pedestrian crossing to slow traffic

The town of Ísafjörður in Iceland has painted this 3D effect zebra crossing in an attempt to lower traffic speeds.

“A pedestrian crossing like this makes it look like there’s something blocking the road,” the CEO of the company behind the painting told Vísir.

It’s not a new concept – last year this mechanical engineer in southern India decided to try and slow traffic in his town by painting 3D effect crossings.
