Andrew Neil skewered Brexit minister Steve Baker and it’s glorious
People enjoyed watching Andrew Neil ask Brexit minister Steve Baker about his cabinet colleague Gavin Williamson’s claim that Jeremy Corbyn had ‘betrayed’ Britain by meeting a Czech diplomat during the Cold War.
Except Neil – consistently the best at the BBC for this sort of thing – was keener to ask the question than Baker was to answer it and the result was a glorious 4 minutes of telly.
Can someone pls fetch a bodybag for Steve Baker we have a casualty here pic.twitter.com/mzp4p1IYGy

This take pretty much sums it up.

The best bit of this is Gwynne trying to interrupt and Neil telling him to button it so he can carry on administering the arse kicking

That’s Labour MP Andrew Gwynne, sitting next to him.
“Did he betray this country?”
Over four excruciating minutes, @afneil gives us a worthy sequel to Paxman’s “Did you threaten to overrule him?” pic.twitter.com/DFw7ELDJUu

That was a glorious 4 minutes. Made my day, thank you @afneil.

My favourite bit is when the Labour chap tries to interject. Reminds me of this absolute cracker "Peter you've just lost the news!" https://t.co/pGk66BMoqO

This person represents quite a lot of people who want to see more Andrew Neil on their screens.
Outstanding! This is why we NEED @afneil more on our screens not less, best political interviewer we have by a country mile. @RobBurl in your new role can you please look into this??

And here’s who can make it happen.
I'm a very, very big fan.
