This church said said it had a perfectly reasonable explanation for this

Well, it’s one way of getting the punters through the doors on a Sunday morning.

Here’s what the church had to say about it, just in case your filthy, filthy mind leapt to the wrong conclusion.

“You don’t open your mouth and yell at somebody, you close your mouth and swallow.

“If you want to say something, keep your mouth closed for a bit. Swallow it, don’t spit it out.”

Ah, right, we see (no we don’t).

In case you’re wondering, it’s the Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit on the Gold Coast of Australia, photographed by local politician John-Paul Langbroek.

Turns out it’s not the first church to draw this conclusion. This one was in Florida.

Still, aware that people were deliberately misinterpreting their entirely innocent sign, this is what it looked like outside that Aussie church the next day.
