This tale of woe prompted other people to share the times they really messed up
It began when someone called Rachel Hawkins shared this tale of woe on Twitter.
I just dropped a full huge jar of spaghetti sauce on the kitchen floor, and it SHATTERED when it hit the tile, and the mess was so big that for a second, I considered just…walking away. From my house, my family, my life. From the oregano-scented horror I'd unleashed.

Once I pulled a pumpkin pie from the oven and it slipped through my mits and hit the floor. Napalm pie innards exploded everywhere, painting the kitchen, and I ran screaming, flinging my pants into the air and diving into a cold shower. My husband was… surprised.

My cat once ate, and then immediately regurgitated virtually whole, a mouse, right in front of me on the mat. I decided to head upstairs tactically and act surprised when my husband got home and found it.

I always wonder what I’d do if I broke a full glass bottle of olive oil. How would you even begin to clear that up? Better to move country.

Oooo, that happened. I was out of town and had a housesitter who knocked the olive oil off the counter. That was in October. I’m still finding glass, and part of the kitchen floor still feels funny.
