A right wing blogger said this about Brett Kavanaugh and it got entirely the responses it deserved
Here’s Tim Montgomerie, founder of ConservativeHome and former chief of staff to Iain Duncan Smith, giving his take on the Kavanaugh hearings.
For a lot of ppl on here, Justice Kavanaugh’s sin appears to be that he’s a white man https://t.co/To1sghltfG
— Tim Montgomerie 🇬🇧 (@montie) September 27, 2018
Brett Kavanaugh, you’ll remember, is Donald Trump’s nominee for the US Supreme Court, who has been accused by Christine Blasey Ford of sexually assaulting her 36 years ago, allegations he has denied.
And Montgomerie’s tweet got exactly the responses it deserved.
1.
I think it’s the multiple sexual assault allegations actually

There is no group more cosseted from consequences, and yet none more sensitive to slights, than comfortable, conservative white men. https://t.co/bPlISnrpRo

3.
You notice how you just did something really fucking stupid and now everyone is mad at you, Tim, and it’s nothing to do with how white and male you are, but because you did something really fucking stupid?
Does that help you understand the whole Kavanaugh thing at all?

The worst thing you've ever tweeted, Tim. https://t.co/8bDmPrLl54

Wow. For people who typically decry identity politics, @montie manages to find them doing identity politics and makes this story of sexual assault effectively about himself. The true spirit of moral turdery https://t.co/M0nO4ibv8z

Tim Montgomerie will not stop until he’s the absolute worst person on Twitter, sitting atop a mountain of garbage tweets wearing a crown moulded from rotting hot takes. https://t.co/stzXKlfeGn

Here’s what Montgomerie had to say in response.
It's his character, not the colour of his skin
— Peter Jukes (@peterjukes) September 28, 2018
Your issue is with Steven Thrasher
— Tim Montgomerie (@montie) September 28, 2018
No, it's your issue. You selected that one tweet to make it about race. Ignoring the thousands of others that make it about human respect and decency
— Peter Jukes (@peterjukes) September 28, 2018
Many other Tweets were drawing attention to his colour. It’s racism and you’re wilfully blind to it. In other Tweets I’ve made it clear I found Dr Ford believable.
— Tim Montgomerie (@montie) September 28, 2018
No, search "Kavanaugh White" on Twitter – you'll find one tweet about 'white privilege' in the top rated, the rest about the White House.
Turning this into a racial issue is deeply inflammatory
— Peter Jukes (@peterjukes) September 28, 2018
This appears to capture what a lot of people thought.
oh, get fucked https://t.co/WtM3KgNCkG
