This woman’s X-ray had an unfortunate side effect as far as her mum was concerned
It’s not easy being a teenager – we actually can’t remember, to be honest – but it’s the little acts of rebellion that keep you going, right?
Like, er, secretly getting your nipples pierced without telling your mum about it because she’s not exactly going to be overjoyed by the idea.
This 20-year-old from Florida managed to keep it a secret because her mum is a “a bit conservative on appearances and hates tattoos and piercings” until she had to go into hospital for an X-ray and, well, this happened.

Yep, there’s no explaining your way out of that one, is there?
Turns out she wasn’t alone.

And just in case you had questions, like these person.
Wait why were you allowed to wear those in an x ray

Because it's an x-ray, not an MRI. X-Ray is not affected by metal except for the fact that the metal will show up in the image.

And this person.
Why were you getting an X-ray?

I have chiari malformation (“brain leakage”) which causes a lot of spinal fluid and nerve issues. I get X-rays frequently to make sure my shoulder and back alignment is good cause it’s supposed to help. I’m trying non surgical solutions

Oh ok, well all the best
