People are sharing the best decisions they’ve made and these 12 are incredibly powerful
Some decisions are genuinely life changing, making the difference between success and failure, whether that’s on a professional, emotional or physical level. Buzzfeed editor, Patrick Strudwick, posted a tweet about one such decision.
Today is exactly 27 years since I came out. 14 years old, at my comprehensive. The single best decision of my life – it enabled me to carry on living. What is the best decision you ever made – and why?

His question spurred a lot of people into sharing momentous decisions from their own lives and these 12 are our favourites.
A lot of them involved relationships.

Getting back in touch with my mum after many years. We rebuilt our relationship and were closer than ever for two years. She then she died of cancer but I was able to be there for her and it was an honour.

Coming out for me was like the start of the authentic Jim. The walls came down and nothing could stop my growth towards being the best person I can be. I never knew how much my potential was being held back by something that’s ultimately so small.

Deciding to move to Manchester. I loved my home town, but I knew there was something else waiting for me in Manchester. I've never regretted it and I still remember getting off a train at Oxford Road train station when I was 17, looking around and just knowing I had to come back.
