This Brexiteer Tory MP got his history wrong and the takedowns were brutal
Brexity Tory MP Daniel Kawczynski isn’t happy with how the Brexit negotiations are going with the EU and says Britain won’t forget how ‘ungrateful’ the EU is being after all we did during (and after) WW2.
‘Britain helped to liberate half of Europe. She mortgaged herself up to the eye balls in process. No Marshall Plan for us only for Germany. We gave up war reparations in 1990. We put £370 billion into EU since we joined. Watch the way ungrateful EU treats us now. We will remember.’
Except Kawczynski hasn’t quite got his history right and there was no shortage of people happy to put him right. It was as entertaining as it was brutal.
