These texts prove that brevity is the soul of dads

Back in the days when text character limits were a big deal, people developed txt spk to make their messages fit, but there was always that one person who would rather send four texts, complete with correct punctuation than butcher a word by shortening it. That person was almost never the dad, because most dads have evolved to say as little as possible – even in texts. Twitter user, Zena, shared a screenshot of a conversation she’d had with her dad.


The succinct style struck a chord with quite a few people and a thread of dad texts soon developed.
