Guy Verhofstadt just owned Boris Johnson after the Supreme Court ruling and it’s brutal stuff
The European Parliament’s Brexit co-ordinator Guy Verhofstadt is something of a past master in the art of the takedown and following today’s Supreme Court ruling that Boris Johnson broke the law, he’s done it again.
At least one big relief in the Brexit saga: the rule of law in the UK is alive & kicking. Parliaments should never be silenced in a real democracy.
I never want to hear Boris Johnson or any other Brexiteer say again that the European Union is undemocratic.

Oof!
Right up there with the time Nigel Farage said this …
We have been openly and wilfully betrayed by our government. I haven’t come out of semi-retirement to muck about — I am giving this both barrels.

… and Verhofstadt came back with this.
Nigel Farage has been an elected MEP since 1999, but now says he comes out of "semi – retirement". As I already warned in 2012, the biggest waste of EU resources is Nigel Farage's salary. Why would anyone re-elect him to this role? pic.twitter.com/fwsAEu8kzr
