Irvine Welsh had the best response to Scottish Tories ripping off Trainspotting

You probably won’t need reminding that author Irvine Welsh is as satisfyingly straight-talking in real life as the characters are in his books.

There was that fabulous time a customer service account on Twitter asked him to mind his language, for instance.

We only mention that because the Scottish Conservatives have just ripped off this famous sequence from Trainspotting ahead of next month’s local elections.

Absolutely diabolical.
