13 Rishi Sunak jokes worth paying your taxes for after he’s fined over Partygate
Chancellor Rishi Sunak has been fined by police for breaking lockdown rules along with Boris Johnson and the prime minister’s wife, Carrie Symonds.
The fixed penalty notices relate to parties held at Downing Street during the pandemic shutdown, so it looks like the chancellor is about to have his second worst week in a row.
Sunak hasn’t said anything publicly since the fine, but here’s what he previously had to tell the Commons when asked whether he’d attended Downing Street parties.

Dear Rishi
I’m guessing you and/or missus can afford the fine but to tell the truth I’m a bit strapped. Any chance of tiding me over till I’ve got the readies myself. I’m as broke as Croesus.

If Sunak wanted to go full Machiavel he could resign because of the fine, thus putting pressure on Johnson to do the same. Of course neither of them will, because they’re a pair of fetid chancers.

If you were advising Rishi Sunak, you'd go for 'resign, do a statement about the problems of Downing Street culture, worse case scenario, you go back to making money out of SW1, best case scenario, you rebuild yourself and come back later', no?
