If the payoff to this exchange about the ‘greatest American’ isn’t a joke, then there’s definitely no hope

This exchange about the ‘greatest American who ever lived’ has just gone viral in the corner of Reddit called ‘facepalm’ which is reserved for case studies of stupendous stupidity.

And probably not for the first time, either.

Except if this one isn’t a joke then there’s definitely no hope. Except, given the state of everything right now, we’re still not entirely 100% convinced.

Either way it’s one hell of a payoff.

‘Damn, didn’t know sweaty was a replacement for sweety.’

‘The funny thing is I know she meant “sweety”, but “sweaty” makes the comment so much better.’

‘I just HAVE to believe it’s a post made in jest because of its obvious ridiculousness.’

‘According to the Mormons, he did go to America.’

‘Wait what? I need to know more about this lol.’

‘After Jesus’ resurrection, according to the Book of Mormon, he visited America.

‘In fact, America plays a special role in Mormonism. Mormons believe that when Jesus returns to Earth, he will first go to Jerusalem and then to Missouri.

And if it’s put you in the mood for this sort of thing, you might also enjoy this – ‘When your restaurant metaphor for atheism is a bit hard to swallow.’
