The payoff to this woman who posted on Facebook about finding a dead cat is an evergreen delight

In the Facebook hall of fame, this is surely somewhere close to the very top, a exchange which began with the most unpromising of beginnings – especially for the cat – but ended up as pure gold.

And while it’s not exactly the first time we’ve shared it, it’s the perfect New Year pick me up when all we’ve got to contemplate is an uncertain future and all our broken (already!) resolutions.
