Last year, this Welsh grandmother went viral for hanging around at the shops, and it’s still the best unplanned stunt by a pensioner
An unfortunate incident that happened in 2024, in Tonteg, near Pontypridd, was shared on the Best-One Tonteg TikTok account and went hugely viral at the time.
The camerawork isn’t great, but the clip …well, just brace yourself.

No old ladies were seriously hurt during the making of this video – although that must have started off as an atomic wedgie for the unfortunate 72-year-old Anne Hughes, who had turned up for her cleaning shift at the shop, and it could have been a lot worse.
TikTok user S Harris added –
“Popped to the shop this morning, you’ll never guess what happened …”
Having been viewed almost two million times in less than a day, it found its way to Twitter/X, where someone helpfully fixed the orientation.
