Trump and the MAGA cultists are using the White House correspondents’ dinner shooting to justify building Trump’s $400m ballroom, and now people smell a conspiracy
The world is waking up to the shocking news of the shooting at and evacuation of the White House correspondents’ dinner in Washington DC.
A 31-year-old man, identified as Cole Allen, charged through security at the event in the Hilton, Washington DC, armed with a shotgun, a handgun and multiple knives.

The event was quickly evacuated and luckily nobody was killed. Trump later held a press conference about what happened.
.
PRESIDENT TRUMP: "One officer was shot, but saved by the fact that he was wearing a obviously a very good bulletproof vest."
"He was shot from very close distance with a very powerful gun, and the vest did the job."

And, as happens a lot these days, Trump used the crisis to talk about…his beloved White House ballroom, saying the night’s events showed the need for a secure venue.

Sure enough, the MAGA and right wing loyalists soon started chiming in with similar messaging.

People online were not buying what they were selling – and, indeed, seemed to fuel conspiratorial thinking about the shooting.
