The only vehicles that turned up to Reform UK’s national fuel tax protest were their own bus and taxi – 17 reactions positively dripping with schadenfreude
If you have the misfortune to be on the same social media app as any of the Reform UK bunch, you will have seen them banging the drum for their national fuel tax protest, which took place on Monday.
Here’s the poster showing what they thought it would be like.
As fuel prices have shot up, the Chancellor has been raking it in.
Spain, Canada, Germany, Ireland have all cut taxes on fuel.
But Rachel Reeves? She’s done nothing.

And this is what actually happened.
This was it – embarrassing 😳 pic.twitter.com/euWB7kxBYI

We should also point out that the red bus wasn’t involved. What actually turned up was the Reform bus, a Reform taxi, and such a small number of people that it looked like they were about to have a five-a-side match, rather than the enormous protest march trumpeted by the party.
Recent Tory defector Sarah Pochin claimed she’d joined motorists for the protest. They probably should have brought their cars along, just to pad things out a bit.
This morning, I joined motorists from across the UK in Central London to demand action on fuel prices.
Drivers are being hammered at the pump while Rachel Reeves rakes in the tax.@reformparty_uk would cut fuel duty and end Labour’s war on motorists. pic.twitter.com/sYsNGWqAkW

The mockery was visible from the top of the Elizabeth Tower – unlike the protest.
1.
And by motorists, she means one bus and a taxi.
This is pathetic, even by Reform standards. https://t.co/7PAEAGyXDd

Reform UK’s ‘national fuel tax protest’ in Whitehall stalls as barely anyone turns up.
Seems they can't even get tractors to tun up now.https://t.co/kEDZ4FJezU— JmRoyle #LFC #YNWA #BLM #RejoinEU (@MyArrse) April 27, 2026

Did they really think that people were going to buy expensive fuel to attend a protest about expensive fuel? #Stupid pic.twitter.com/p1cJYGhlGa

No motorists were harmed, or indeed involved, in the making of this protest. https://t.co/kZvwdfPT8j

Hundreds of tractors, lorries and vans… failed to turn up for our National Fuel Protest. Still, Richard Stupid Tice was there to spout bollocks to the crowd of up to 23 people. pic.twitter.com/2xc0OwO7WT
