Someone asked what was the exact moment things started getting worse. Which of these 21 suggestions was your tipping point?
You don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to deduce that things are bad – really bad.
The orange buffoon in the White House has raised everybody’s cost of living, not only in his own country, but in everybody else’s. Incidents of extreme weather are becoming more frequent, and too many governments are sticking their head in the sand over the causes. And don’t even get us started on how a selection of billionaires have taken it upon themselves to stick their greedy fingers into every pie on the window-sill.
Those three problems are not necessarily unconnected.
Over on Twitter – now, of course, officially named X since Elon Musk bought it to spread pro-Trump propaganda – @james_xond wanted to know where the current shit-showery started.
Can anyone pinpoint the exact moment when everything in society started getting noticeably worse?

Opinions varied, but some of these sounded at least feasible. See what you think.

It varied from country to country, but things started getting noticeably worse when two events happened: first, the widespread transmission of SARS-CoV-2, and second, the accompanying politicisation of any pharmaceutical or non-pharmaceutical response to the virus. https://t.co/beVgJ6vod5
