‘Competent financial management within the government. I have absolutely no issue paying high rate taxes and supporting those in need, but the financial mismanagement within government is staggering. One very simple example is the NHS – why the hell do they not leverage their purchasing power and buy all supplies as a single entity? I mean things like gloves, masks, paper towels, etc.’

‘Free public transport. Having visited family in Luxembourg, where this has been a thing over the past few years, it makes a HUGE difference.

When it’s free, why pay to take the car? You walk more, theres more transport as everyone’s taking it, so it gets more usable. The amount of traffic drops significantly, there was less traffic in the Capital of Luxembourg than in my local town at rush hour. There was more community feel as people got to know their neighbours and surroundings again.

Lux has also been encouraging people to live closer to their work, so I’m sure the two go hand-in-hand, but they’re doing it, and it works.’
