‘I once ate a bowl of cornflakes as a kid (probably around 13), and thought to myself – commit this to memory for no reason whatsoever. I still remember the room I was in. I am 47 now. This has to be the most mundane memory ever.’

‘I was paying for something at tescos and it was £9.60 total. The cashier without missing a beat was like “£96 please” and I pulled out a £10 and said “here’s £100”. Then he gave me my change and said “£40 back” and that was it, I left. It was mildly amusing so not fully mundane but that guy was such a dude to make a silly joke with a straight face and without an agenda. It felt like we were kids playing shop lol.’

‘When alighting a bus, instead of saying “Thank You” to the driver, I said “Tank You” and this lady sat by the driver smirked.

‘Was in the pub garden with my now husband. A group of older guys on the next table to us. A guy comes walking up with a horse and starts arguing with the older guys, one of them shouts ‘ you and your horse can fuck off!
‘I regularly say it to my husband when he’s annoying me 😭😂 it was before we were married, and were married 13 years next month so it’s been a long time 😂’

‘A horrible old woman I used to have to work with was trying to open a can of tuna and couldn’t. She ended up saying “fcking thing! It’s all shitted up” which made me laugh because it was such a charmless thing to say.

‘Once when I was wee, my cousins and I were visiting our granny in the hospital. On the way out my cousin went to get a Magnum out of the vending machine and it dropped three, so I got a freebie.
‘You never see ice cream vending machines now, especially in hospitals.’

‘Almost 20 years ago I stayed in holiday accommodation that had a sign on the wall asking guests not to flush “tampoons” down the toilet.

‘One of the genuinely most life changing moments of my existence was waiting in a queue in a Tesco Express and the self checkouts weren’t working or something so had to be served by the cashier, a woman in front of me put her basket down and announced “life’s too short darling”, popped her basket down and coolly sauntered off. I think about her daily.’
