After several unsuccessful attempts, a lady waiting behind me noticed that something was wrong and asked if everything was okay. I explained the situation, and without hesitation, she offered me the cash I needed.
What moved me the most was that she wasn’t even expecting me to pay her back. It took me several attempts to convince her to share her details so I could transfer the money back to her.

It was such a simple act of kindness, but at a stressful and uncertain moment in my life, it meant so much to me. I’ve never forgotten her generosity. It reminded me that even complete strangers can show up for you when you least expect it and sometimes, a small gesture from someone can stay with you for years.’

‘When The Beast from the East hit I was stranded and walking miles home in the snow which was up to my knees. Another girl walking past stuck up conversation and we kept each other going. Then a car with 2 older women pulled up to offer us a lift down the road. I was having a terrible depressive episode at that time, in an abusive relationship, and totally overwhelmed by it all. I wish I could go back in time and thank those people properly.’

The media and Internet don’t often show it, but I’ve collected stories from friends, family, and acquaintances where totally random people have just done something thoughtful and kind out of nowhere.
