Also have a cat who was called ‘Cowpatch’ due to being patterned like a cow when a kitten. He was meant to get a proper name one day. Is now 17 and called “Cow.”

A friend had a cat called Hero. Name got shortened to Ro, then Roaster, then Doctor Roaster, then Roast.

We used to call our daughter Pumpkin. It got shortened to P, then Pea Pod, then just Pod. Currently known as Podcast. A shame really. Her name is Iona, which is much nicer.

Both are collectively known as ‘The Stench’

Our dog was Rusty. It then evolved to Mostyn. Then we called her Mostyn the Wonder Dog. She eventually ended up being called MTWD for short.

My brother used to have a scruffy little mongrel thing called Sadus. But his appearance – and demeanour – meant he got called Scrotus. And then, just Scrote. I think that’s the name that ended up written in his Vet record.

I used to call orange juice “Sunny-D” even though we don’t drink Sunny Delight, then got into a habit of calling everything by its name then -D, “Pass the salty-D” or “We need more soapy-D” – went cold turkey but still now call boxer shorts “Boxy-Ds”
