Here’s what @human_not_bees told us about the thread and how it came about.
‘While talking to some Twitter friends someone said they knew “all the UK accents” because they’d visited the UK and driven around. I thought if the bar was that low for claiming you knew about a country then I’d test my knowledge of US states.
‘I pulled up a list of the state names and just started guessing. I think all their TV and movies help with the stereotypes. Florida was easy because everyone’s heard of Florida Man.
Outside of churning out a blend of nonsense, socialism, and Björk memes for the timeline I also run a Dungeons & Dragons campaign for friends on Twitter. It was while I was playing that this tweet blew up.
