Ted Cruz got judged for asking Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson if she thinks babies are racist

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson has been nominated for a seat on the US Supreme Court and is currently undergoing confirmation hearings, to determine whether she is a fit and proper person for the office.

The nomination of an African-American woman has seriously rattled many on the right of US politics, including Senator Lindsey Graham. He stormed out of Tuesday’s hearing after grilling Ms. Brown Jackson about her religious beliefs, suggesting the non-denominational Christian might be unable to judge Catholics fairly.

On the same day as Senator Graham’s inability to separate church and state, the judge had to face a very odd line of questioning from Ted Cruz.

Because the book Antiracist Baby is available in the library of a school on whose board Ms. Brown Jackson sits, Ted Cruz somehow thought that made it okay to try and prove that she would push Critical Race Theory on the Supreme Court – presumably by making them read about racist babies.

To say he got dragged would be putting it mildly.

Laura Bassett mused on the fast turnaround of Ted Cruz news, from one day when he was pulling the old ‘Don’t you know who I am?‘ with airport staff, to the next day when he was asking if babies are racist.

Tune in tomorrow for the next episode of Cirque de Ted Cruz.
