You wait an age for a Cabinet minister resign in protest at Boris Johnson and then two throw in the towel at once.
The beleaguered PM’s future was thrown into doubt – yes, we know we’ve said that before – after the double resignation on Tuesday of both chancellor Rishi Sunak and health secretary Sajid Javid.
The Chris Pincher scandal appeared to be the straw that broke the camel’s back. Well, that and those two crushing by-election defeats, obviously.
