Karoline Leavitt is going viral for saying “there will be some shots fired tonight” before the White House correspondents’ dinner, and it’s doing wonders for the tinfoil hat and red string industries

Well, this probably isn’t the clip that the most high profile press secretary in the world would want going around this morning.

Following the shocking shooting at the White House correspondents’ dinner, a pre-event clip from Fox News of Karoline Leavitt bigging up Trump’s speech has gone mega/MAGA viral – for good reason.

Take a listen.

The interview asks if Trump is “ready to rumble”. She says:

“He is ready to rumble. I will tell you, this speech tonight will be classic Donald J. Trump. It’ll be funny, it’ll be entertaining, there will be some shots fired tonight in the room, so everyone should tune in, its going to be really great.”

Now, “shots fired” is slang (mostly in the US) to describe when someone insults or disses someone else in public.

But in light of the night’s events – and the growing conspiracy thinking around it – the clip has taken on a very entertaining life of its own.
