A BBC local radio clip of Trumpton just dropped the C-bomb in a completely unexpected and utterly hilarious manner
There’s always a juvenile glee to be had when a C-bomb is accidentally dropped on live radio. Who can forget those heady days when Tory MP Jeremy Hunt was in government, spawning an epidemic of reporters and broadcasters ‘accidentally’ swapping out the ‘H’ of his surname with a (some would say more appropriate) letter ‘C’?
This latest gaffe, transmitted on BBC Radio Somerset, came from a rather more unexpected direction, however. Here’s presenter Simon Parkin – you might remember him from the Broom Cupboard – talking about the vintage BBC kids’ TV show Trumpton. Thanks to Keri Jones for sharing on Twitter.
BBC Somerset fail! Don't listen if the C word offends! pic.twitter.com/TodkvUkERP

So many questions. Was it clipped up by a BA? Why didn’t Simon not listen to it first? It wasn’t the voice of Brian Cant so it sounds like a parody, did a youngster who’d never heard of Trumpton just use the first clip they found? Parkin would have been mortified.

Possibly the least offensive thing ever done by a BBC radio DJ.
